Rowan Museum Directions
Interstate 85 (Charlotte and Greensboro):
Take Exit 76 (Innes Street) off I-85 North turn left, off I-85 South turn right, at the end of the Exit Ramp. Go approximately 1 mile into Downtown Salisbury, and following East Innes Street downtown, crossing the railroad tracks, turn right onto Lee Street and go one block. Take the first left onto Council Street, go one block and cross North Main Street, and immediately on your right, on the corner of West Council and North Main Street, you’ll see the old courthouse, the Rowan Museum. There is a parking lot right in front of the Museum. It is a private lot and there is a $5.00 charge to park for the day. Parking on the street is in two hour increments and very limited as you are in the Courthouse/Justice Center area of town. Parking on the street, further down from the Museum on Council Street, is free…you just have to check the signs to see if it’s two hour parking, or not. There are also several large church parking lots on both sides of Council Street further down, that you can use. You cannot miss us! Please use either entrance. Elevator is through the rear entrance.
Interstate 40 (from Raleigh):
Follow I-40 West to Greensboro and take I-85 South toward Charlotte. Follow Interstate 85 directions.
Interstate 40 (from Asheville):
Follow I-40 East to I-77 at Statesville. Take I-77 South toward Charlotte; go approximately 2 miles to Exit 49 (US 70, Bagnall Blvd.). Follow US 70 East approximately 30 miles into Salisbury. Turn right onto West Innes Street, travel into downtown Salisbury (several miles), cross Main Street at the Square and turn left onto Lee Street, go one block and turn left onto Council, and then follow the above parking directions.
From Winston-Salem:
Take US 52 East. It will merge with Interstate 85 South at Lexington. Follow directions for Interstate 85.
